Bus Mirror Replacement – Cambridge Mobile Library

Recently we were contacted by the lovely people at the Cambridgeshire County Council Mobile Library with a need they had for a replacement bus mirror to keep them on the road. With only 3 of these vehicles in service in Cambridgeshire, each carrying 3,000 items of stock, it was important that we help out as soon as possible. Gratefully we had their replacement product in stock and we were able to turn the order around in the same day, getting the bus road ready within 24 hours.

Reading and community services are critical parts of our society so we are grateful when we can help these services stay active.

According to the National Literacy Trust 1 in 6 (7.1 Million) adults have very poor literacy skills but these skills can still be learned even in the adult years. This is why it is important to keep open access to books, literature and education material generally available.

Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak and listen effectively. It is essential for learning, communication, personal development and social participation. Literacy can be improved by various strategies, such as:

  • Providing access to quality education and learning resources for all children and adults, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs.
  • Encouraging a culture of reading and writing at home, school and community, by creating a rich and diverse print environment, promoting reading for pleasure and purpose, and supporting parents and caregivers to engage in literacy activities with their children.
  • Developing and implementing effective literacy instruction and assessment methods that are based on research and best practices, and that cater to the diverse needs and interests of learners.
  • Providing opportunities for professional development and collaboration for teachers and other literacy educators, to enhance their knowledge and skills in teaching literacy and addressing the challenges and barriers faced by their students.
  • Fostering a lifelong learning attitude and motivation for literacy, by providing relevant and meaningful learning opportunities and experiences, and by recognizing and celebrating the achievements and progress of learners.
  • Raising awareness and advocacy for the importance and benefits of literacy, and the consequences and costs of illiteracy, among policymakers, stakeholders, media and the general public.

If you have any need for a replacement twin or single bus mirror and arm we are always happy to assist.
